Flash! Neighbors meet at Cress Creek Country Club Sunday to support Park District buying land at Northeast corner Mill and Bauer to expand out NIKE park....(Great IDEA say Neighbors!) We all met with the Park District on Monday April the 2nd and expressed the neighbors desire to have the area purchased by the Park District and even more land purchased. The Park District says by their own figures and requirements that the Northside is 100 acres short of having enough park acreage. Many of the neighbors suggested that the Park District buy the Mayneland Farm area along with the 52 acres to the west of the present Nike Park across Mill Street. As you know, many of the soccer games and other events are required to drive as far south as 75th street to play their games, simply because there are not enough fields on the north side. If you would like to help, Click here to sign a petition online....http://www.petitiononline.com/032007fb/petition.html Or click here to print one on one and take to your neighbors and friends! Click to get PDF copy of the petition take to meeting or where ever you go and get a ton of these signed! We are shooting for 1000 signed by April 12th at the Park district meeting! Return your signed to petitions to Lise Leonard (1005 Heatherton), Robert Jusino corner of Washington and Baer Road, , Fran Bixler (1608 Mohler Court), Jim Healy (1205 Heatherton) or drop them by Signs by Liza....next door to the Mayland farm. Hi Neighbors:
1) sign the petition yourself please
2) circulate a petition and collect some signatures from neighbors; drop-off to Jim Healy (1205 Heatherton) or Lise Leonard (1005 Heatherton) by noon on April 12th.
Thanks for your consideration. This is only about "yes" or "no" to land purchase; it is NOT about how exactly the land will be used, where is parking, ingress + egress, etc.
Hey! Do you have story to tell, or a news link that you think people in Naperville should know about...
